Obama's 'Word' of 'Faith'

Citizenship, and community service, are not faith. They are citizenship and community service. Good things to be sure, but not faith. Despite Obama's use of the word, despite the fact that he will probably be the next president of the United States of America, despite the fact that he is a Harvard graduate, despite the claim that he is a Christian, he is dreadfully misusing the word.
Faith is not about what we do. Faith is a gift from God. He gives us faith to believe the unbelievable. And what is this unbelievable? It is the Good News, that you and I, the sinners, have been forgiven of our sins by God Himself.
How can this be? Because God sent His Son down from Heaven for us men and for our salvation. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. He lived the life that we should have lived and accounts this life to us, and He died to pay for our sins of not living this sinless life. He is our Substitute. Dying in our place, He conquered sin and death. At just the right time Christ came into the world, and because of His work on our behalf, our Creator has forgiven our sins and adopted us as His children. Faith is given to us very frail, weak human beings, to believe this unbelievable Good News, the Gospel.
Obama, and his socialist friends, have high-jacked the word 'faith' and applied it to human activity, citizenship. Faith is not about what we do, but about what Christ has done for us.
Citizenship is good and we need it. It is expressed in many and various ways, but it has its own name already, that is the word, citizenship. Simple. Words do have meaning, as Obama has instructed us many times. Citizenship is not faith and it is not religion. It is performed by Christians and atheists alike. Some atheists are far better citizens than most Christians could ever hope to be. But they do not have faith, by their own acknowledgement, which is why they are atheists.
When churches adopt social activity as their modus operandi, they are frauds. They become community centers. They are not churches. Community centers are good too, but they are not churches. Everything has a place and purpose. Blending them always results in neutering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Something has to go after all. It will always be Christ. He will morph from our Substitute into our role model, our life coach, or our sugar daddy.
Christians should take part in all kinds of citizenship, as citizens. And Churches need to preach boldly, relentlessly, that Christ has died for the sins of the world. You could be the best citizen ever, but you will die. Citizenship has no eternal value. It won't matter without Christ as your Substitute. No one will be saved by good citizenship. We are rescued from the wrath of God in the end, because Christ died for our sins. We need to hear this message every week. It gives Eternal Life. It delivers what it claims, it delivers Jesus Christ to poor, miserable sinners.
Churches that preach 'getting busy for Jesus' are in reality starving their people. And the ministers that engage in this deceitful practice should be defrocked. And Christians are called to be vigilant against these wolves.
We need citizenship to keep the country and world running, but it doesn't add to our salvation in any way. We need Christ for this very painful life, this veil of tears and to get us through death, the last enemy. We are all sinners, which is why we all get to die. We need to know that God is not angry with us. We now have peace with God because Jesus Christ died for us, the ungodly. Sinners need to hear this preached relentlessly.
For now, we continue to serve our neighbors, citizenship, asking forgiveness when we fail, which is frequent. And giving forgiveness when sinned against, since Christ has forgiven us far more. When the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached purely, the sinners of the world receive comfort and hope of eternal life, and the Hope of God does not disappoint.

The Identity Politics of Obama

Identity politics, and those that engage in it, have a need to be god. Their station in life is not accepted by them. They reject the lowly creature role. The run of the mill human being role. They need to be better than the rest of us, for what ever reason, they need to be over us, special. And we must agree with them, or...we are racist, or homophobic, or sexist, or some other phony, slanderous, imaginary charge.
Identity politics is what Obama is trafficking in. Obama has created a toxic atmosphere, that he has learned very well from his Chicago associations, and he can not be criticized for anything that anyone else would be criticized for. And yet he wants to rule us. We are being set up to be called a racist country if he loses. It just could not possibly be his politics.
He is the only one mentioning his race. And yet he claims others are. That is because he is the racist. He is overly concerned with the color of his skin. He is special.
We can't even mention his associations. And why not? He mentions the associations of other's. What's he hiding? And one's character is what picks one's associations after all. Oh, that's right, he's the black candidate, and, again, they must be treated special. I think Martin Luther King would be rolling over in his grave with this turn of events.
We can't question him about his pastor, Jeremiah Wright, and his choosing to go a church that preaches hate, for 20 years. Why not? Wright claims to preach Christianity. But that's not what he preached. He preached hatred and called it Christianity. He should be criticized in every pulpit in America, and not for his "God damn America" nonsense. But because he didn't preach Christ crucified for sinners. He stole the Bread of Life, a human being's only hope, from his people and replaced it with a mold-ridden political movement filled with arrogance and hate. His preaching can kill one's faith. His preaching, removes himself and his congregants from the category of sinner, simply because they did not have a smooth trip in this life. But Christianity teaches that no one is good. No not one, regardless of circumstances or color. God never promised anyone or any group a smooth trip. And our times are in His hands. Christianity teaches this.
Obama was fine with Wright's preaching until it got too much media attention. What did he learn about Christianity under Wright? Not much apparently, how could he? And what did he learn about human life? Obama has a low respect for human life. That's because of his 'faith'. In defense of abortion, he said he doesn't know when a soul enters the body. But Christianity teaches that we are 'living souls'. We don't own a soul, we are a soul. When a sperm and egg come together a living soul is formed. This is why death is such a horror show. We are rent asunder, split in two. Our souls go to be with the Lord and our bodies go into the ground. But the hope of the Christian is that when the Lord returns there will be the resurrection of the dead. We will be put back together, and without sin, and so we will be forever with our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the blessed hope of the Christian. Obama would know this if Wright taught Christianity. But he didn't. He taught a blend of Marxist/Grievance/Liberation Theology. This is what Obama was baptized into. I don't care what he believes, if he would just call it something else, instead of defining Christianity down to a 'gutter' religion, a la Louis Farrakhan, all in an effort to defend the gross act of killing one's child.
Obama has another problem with the true Christian Faith. He constantly denigrates our vocations. He seems to have no concept that God has us serve our neighbors in the vocations that we have. These jobs are all needed and they are how our Father in heaven cares for us. From farmers, to store clerks, to computer specialists, to lawyers. We need these vocations. Not to mention our main vocations, that of father, and mother and children. We serve each others needs in these places. But Obama has decided, God's way is just not good enough. We must all be part of his volunteer brigades. To be sure, volunteering is a good thing. And anyone is free to do it, if so inclined. But it is not more important than the vocation of father and mother, or more important than our daily jobs that support our families and produce products for our neighbor's good. Obama would know this if he was taught Christianity. But he was taught how lowly these vocations were, and his Public Allies and Acorn community organizing groups are must more important. This would help explain why he has little respect for the unborn. To him, they have no vocation, so no worth. But that's not true. They have great worth and are a blessing from our Creator Himself. Christianity teaches this. Christianity does not teach that a baby is just an appendage of the mother and that the mother is the sole arbiter of whether the baby lives or dies. It does teach that a mother is the baby's protector and nourisher for nine months. But, women have a bigger voice and little babies can't be heard. So they lose. Obama's views once again lower God's work and lifts up his own over God's.
This wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't passed off as Christianity. If Christianity teaches anything, it teaches the mercy of God our Father extended to us freely, for the sake of His Son, Jesus Christ. It teaches how very helpless we are to please God because of our sin, but out of His great love for us He sent His Son to pay the price for our sins. Now, a baby is a perfect picture of this helpless. We could be merciful, and not kill them so readily as God had mercy on us. Christianity teaches to have mercy on everyone, not just those with big mouths.
Obama is more enthralled with being black and wants us to be enthralled about it too. But Christianity teaches that God made all people, all colors, and if you want to be the head, a little more humility is in order or you will be asked to take the far end of the table. If a 'Christian' cannot tell the truth about Christ and what he teaches, that He died to save us from our sins, and all are sinners, which is why we all get to die, then he should call himself something else.
Identity politics and identity theology will kill us.
